Hey everyone!
It`s been a good while since I`ve been able to properly sit down and
continue my work on the MUD. Partly due to RL, unfortunately. But I have
managed to find a steadier flow of things as of late and I`ve begun to work
on some changes. You guys should be seeing them roll out over the course
of the next few days/weeks, if all continues to go well. Some of these
changes are:
- Re-evaluation of all areas: I will primarily be focusing on objects and
NPCs as well as filling any missing blanks in areas (such as vital
descriptions and the addition of quests). With objects you will be seeing
changes to the way attributes and stats are allocated in them. For
instance, weapons will rarely have stats and attributes, but will have
higher damage values as well as damroll/hitroll bonuses. Armor will have
the essential armor rating as well as attributes and stats. With NPCs, you
will notice that most NPCs will have more health and deal more damage.
This is to counter-balance the changes being done to equipment. Overall,
however, these changes should not affect the flow of combat away from what
it is known to be. Lastly, I will be adding new quests, necessary for
facilitating the leveling process from 1 to 100 and improving their rewards
in general.
- Finish TFRoK: The Foreboding Region of Kasai has been evolving since its
initial release for quite some time now. But due to unexpected
circumstances, the changes it has seen are not 100% complete. After my
area re-evalutaions are complete, Kasai will be my next focus. Once
finish, the area will have a wide variety of items, quests and NPCs that
are currently not present on the live-version of the MUD.
- Finish the "secret event area": Zeno has been wanting me to work on this
for a while, but, as with other things, it has not been finish. This
area`s theme and purpose will remain a secret for now. But I will divulge
the fact that it is tied to bonus hour. Once I work out some details with
Zeno, you guys can start expecting to hear more details about this little
project.
There are many more things I will be working with alongside Zeno, but this
is some of the stuff centric to me that I wanted to share with you guys so
that you know what is to come. If you guys have any questions, comments,
concerns or ideas, please feel free to send them my way via gnote or in the
Discord channel that Zeno has provided for us to use outside of the MUD!
