Since InuYasha Galaxy is based on Smaug, there is a Smaug building guide here:
http://webhome.idirect.com/~helspawn/smaug.html

So if you want to apply as an Immortal, and don't know much about building, read that over and learn it.

You can also run Smaug on your computer to try it out.

Get WinSmaug:

The one issue with any of building guides you find online is that none of them are made specifically for the generic version of smaug. There are certain abilities that they show on the guides that won't work on our code and some of our code that won't work on generic smaug. This is important to keep in mind. That said the majority of the information on these sites for muds based on Smaug 1.4a are the same. This is what makes them good for learning the basics of building

Yes, there are some Windows Smaug versions there, along with some OLC help files.

Note that Hobson is also running a MUD where you can practice building, so you can show us what you are capable of.

I am having trouble with WinSmaug. I downloaded from the first link, but when i try and run the startup file, the black screen pops up and closes before i can input anything. Does anyone know how to fix this? While I'm here i might as well ask if there is a way to make classes/abilities without getting into the coding? And if i need to get into the coding How hard would that be? Thanks in Advance : ) -Suva

WinSmaug? Just run the exec, it shouldn't close... You don't enter input. You use WinSmaug to host Smaug, and then use telnet/clients to connect to localhost and whatever port you are on to connect.

Yes. Use sset to create/edit skills, and setclass to create/edit classes.

If you're using Windows, it'll be quite annoying to code. Smaug was meant to compile in linux, so you'll have to get a server, or host on your Windows computer, in which case you'll need Cygwin. See http://www.cprogramming.com/ on programming tutorials.
