ok am really not a noob at muds but i've hit a problem even before entering the mud.

Enter your characters name, or type new:
new
Illegal name, try another.
Name: Illegal name, try another.
Name: Illegal name, try another.
Name: new:
Illegal name, try another.

so someone mind telling me what am suppose to type exactly?
i've tried many many other forms of typing new, :, and a name. trust me.
so someone may be so kind to show me the correct format. thanx.

What client are you using? Typing new is correct, but it seems your client is typing in something else as well.
