Ok one of the many things i have noticed up till now with chop is A only a sertin item can chop B these items sadly can not be used as weapons. I personally find this a bit unrealistic as any thing with a blade can chop and any thing that can chop deals damage and can be used as a weapon. So my solution to this based on the bit of Info i have on chop is one of two things

1
this is the least complex and probably most boring way to fix it but set up to work based on an extra flag this way any weapon with the chop flag can be used to chop with and you wouldn't need to have seperat items for chopping. serton rules would have to be made about this flag and you could probably still keep it for with the hold flag if you wished * although I would just base it on the primary weapon *

2
my other idea is quite a bit more complex as far as coding i believe but it involves making weapons have use of another vector *V4 or V5 if still open other wise another will need to be made* This vector would control ones chopping ability's with the weapon A 0 meaning it cant chop a 10 meaning it is quite suited for chopping and dose it more effectively. i would say starting at 1 it would be about 1 minute and go down by say 5-10 seconds for each inter vole. now ten and one minuet are just rough figures i would go as high as about 5 minuets myself for weapons that are blunted or even not decent cutting tools but those figurers can be better thought out later. as for the holding thing again as i said that is up to you guys but i still think if its based on weapons it would be better just to check the primary weapons cutting ability although if you took this rought you could actually check both the primary and secondary weapons for decreased time etc. now it could also be reversed 0 still equaling a weapon that cant chop but 1 equaling shortest chopping time and any thing thereafter adding time it would take to chop * from a builders point of view probably much easier to work with *

on a bit of a side not something simaler could be done with dig making it so weapons could also be used as digging tools * just not the most effective ones * this would give weapons much greater use as tools i feel in the world itself

Well axes can be used to chop in a fight yes, but belts can also be used to whip somebody. Just because it's realistic doesn't mean it's in the game.
