I think that when a person gets incapacitated, they should have a longer time to wait to die, and that they would become a spirit, ayyached to thier body by a chain of fate, and the furthest they could go is 5 rooms away. They could speak to other spiritual buildings, like using a new channel, and the other spiritual beings would be stuff like humans (because they have kidou), other incapacitated people, and if there's a possible way for hanyou and youkai to be spiritual too, hen them also. And they could get this healing kidou (the one that Rhukia used in episode 3) where it could treat them, except in the mud it would be like aid, but you can't aid people who are mortally wounded or incapacitated.

If you're mortally wounded, your chain could be thin, delecate, and short, so if you go beyond it's limits, or stay at it's limits for too long, then you will die.
Something like "You step beyond the boundaries of the chain of fate!
You have been KILLED!!"
or something like that...

And if you die, you should have something related to the chain of fate, where you can see what was going on at your corpse, like if you got Pk'ed, you could see what they take or who is there or whats going on, like who's saying what, until you get out of the death area.


Just an Idea...

I hate to break it to you but the last part of your idea breaks all the bleach rules. If you die your chain of fate is cut so there is no more ties to your body.

When it comes to going and making an out of body experience while you are at the near death point I don't know. It could possibly go with how we would go about doing something else that you don't learn about yet but perhaps not. As for us putting in a healing kidou that is one of the many things on the list to do. Unfortunately its one of the few kidou that they never give a number, name and chant for.

They could use a translation for the name, and findout the highest kidou number and make that the one right after it.
And the chant could be something like "healing art" or whatever.

Your chain breaks and you slowly become a hollow. So if you add the chain of fate you would need to imply that. Can't just have half the tasty pie..
