you're here... I was climbing and I spranged my ankle... Nothing
serious, but you see, I can't call for help all the way up here.
Could you please find it in your heart to bring me a gourd of water?"
A traveler lies against the cave wall, "Just say you have the gourd
when you have it."

I'm thinking a traveler doesn't need to be so damn picky when he's dehydrated.

Typically for quests if they want an item, it'll be an item from the same area.

What happened was that this quest came before most of the areas, then new areas came in with more gourds which aren't part of the quest.

so i'm assuming it wants the wolf demon gourd then right?

Hmm I might have been off on what I said. It should be the gourd in Haira Village. Haira, Forbidden Forest and Rulath were a few of the first areas.

Items are checked by what we call Vnums. And a lot of the times you will find that items can have the same names and descriptions, but actually be different by vnum (in other words, not truly identical.) This is because there is not one global item for each item ever made. (Even thought it would be cool and organized, it is hard to pull off with our current system.) So if an NPC asks for a certain item but is rather vague about where to acquire it, be sure to try different varieties of said item.

On that note. Whenever I revise that particular area, I will be sure to include that the NPC is specifically asking for the gourd from whatever area the required item is from. (Or simply change that part of the quest to ask for an item within that area instead.)
