The idea briefly flitted about in my mind. It's rampant that people complain on the reiatsu gaining system, and how most of all the combat abilities are earned much earlier than they can be used. Instead, I have an idea. Reiatsu skills and spells will use reserve reiatsu FIRST. If there isn't enough, then the cost should be deducted from current reiatsu, but only with 1/4 effectiveness due to the increased spiritual stress to use it, and make sure it connects. Also, emitting reiatsu should take an equivalent twice the cost out of chi/jakai. Ex: Emit 300 would cost 600 chi/jakai. Another example: Damage with spiritual punch base is 20, however when reserve is low, then 300 points would be deduced from current reiatsu, and the damage base is only 5. If the current reiatsu is lower than 300, then they can't use the skill at ALL.

This is so people with lower base reiatsu can effectively train themselves in a more freeform manner, other than the 'follow a ghost and try not to idle'. It's also safer for people who are lethal, and don't want to have to be at risk sitting in overly obvious places to get ganked.

Also, a more practical use for practice sessions would be nice.

The whole "follow ghost" is essentially a temporarily solution until we have more Bleach content. We need Bleach areas to push out real content and as always, we lack builders. Alex will be working on a Bleach area though, so we're not at a dead-end.

After we get some of that done, we'll review everything again and see how it all connects.

Well, why not make an explorable afterlife? Or a choice to come backk to life, or move on to seireitei? maybe those with awareness have a chance to, on death, become a hollow instead, until next death (maybe a config option, you'll see why lateer). In which their alignment is permanently evil, they gain a temporary set of skills, and gain a boost to reiatsu. (maybe a 5% boost, or +10, whichever is higher.) They won't need to eat, or drink, and do not naturally recover their health, and do not benefit from any healing methods (other than a reiatsu skill added via hollow race that allows them to focus solely on healing, that only works DURING combat) Also, hollows gain no benefits from, and cannot embed shards into their body. Hollows shouldn't be able to grab loot/yen, and would gain a temporary stat boost of 10% base on all stats. Also, they will not be able to use their normal skills, do not gain exp or stats from combat (only reiatsu on kills, they will devour the victim's soul and will gain 1 reiatsu on a kill, IF their target is of a level they'd actually gain from, and also heal 10hp on a kill with no other gain.) Finally, hollows shouldn't be able to perform quests, or use the bone-eater's well. Dying and turning into a hollow leaves no corpse behind, all items held/worn are dropped onto the ground.

Character name: Futch
I REALLY like that idea about hollows eating each other. (and whatever else they eat)
