I played a game where it's combat was centered around elemental effects. I think the game was called Fantasy Battle. So, my idea is: 1) Resistance to elements: water attacks could lower resistance to lightning. 2) Special effects: water attack followed by a fire attack could create steam. The steam could blind or lower visibility. 3) Elemental potency: ways to increase how strong an elemental attack is. (+50 water, +50 fire) |

The elemental system right now is pretty basic, I do plan on more elemental moves that can be stronger. There's also already an elemental weakness system, not sure if that covers your first point. |

I was thinking of adding elemental attack/defense to equipment. So, for example, a water attack would do more damage the more +water attack from equipment you had. Defense would lower the damage you receive, obviously. It might even influence the chance of being affected by a special effect. |
